Rain provides relief from heat but it also brings many diseases with it. Doctors say that the chances of getting some diseases increase during monsoon. The most common of these are viral fever, cold, malaria, typhoid, hepatitis A, diarrhea, chikungunya etc.
Cough, cold and viral fever
The biggest reason for people being absent from work during monsoon is cold because it is caused by viruses and thrives in a moist environment. Wearing blue clothes and staying in such humid air for a long time increases the chances of getting cold.
Keep in mind
Keep a pair of clothes for yourself in the office
Close the lids and open the windows
The disease spreads rapidly when you come in contact with an infected person, so keep washing your hands often and avoid coming in physical contact with people suffering from cold, this reduces the chances of catching cold
Strengthen your body’s immunity by eating fresh fruits and vegetables
Malaria
One of the most common monsoon related diseases is malaria, which is caused by the bite of a special species of mosquitoes that breed in dirty water. Its symptoms include fever, body pain, occasional sweating. If not treated, it can lead to severe anemia or the liver and kidneys may also stop working
Keep in mind
Standing water is a suitable place for mosquitoes to breed. Make sure that there is no stagnant water anywhere in your house or neighborhood and the house and outside should be completely clean
If you have to store water in the house, keep it covered.
There should be a mesh in the window so that mosquitoes cannot come inside.
Also use mosquito repellent at home.
Typhoid
The symptoms of typhoid are fever lasting for more than 5 days, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain and marks on the body in the second week. It is mostly caused by contaminated food or water.
Take care
To avoid this, avoid eating outside food as much as possible.
A vaccine to keep typhoid away is also available.
Hepatitis A
This viral disease also spreads through contaminated food and water. Its symptoms include increased body temperature, body pain, joint pain and vomiting. Yellowness is also seen in the eyes, skin and nails.
Diarrhea When diarrhea occurs due to the consumption of food infected by bacteria, it is often called food poisoning. When the symptoms start appearing, rest as much as possible and consume fluids. If vomiting is also occurring along with diarrhea, consume fluids at short intervals and suck small pieces of ice. As soon as you start feeling better, start eating light food slowly so that there is no stomach cramp.
Take care
Compress the stomach with a hot water bottle or electric heating pillow.
